Finally got round to watching Cloud Atlas. It has 6 different stories set in different times/places + the cast (including Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, and more) play different characters. It's based on the book by David Mitchell (tho' I haven't read that). I thought the stories would follow a linear progress but the film jumps about from story to story ( Read more... )

Saw Starred Up the other week (the new prison film w/Jack O' Connell). I really liked it. OK, the plot was fairly standard but I thought it had a good script that kept things moving along and didn't go for a cliched ending + it had some fine performances all round esp Jack O' Connell.

Saw Thor 2 - it was OK, Tom Hiddleston as Loki was definitely the best bit for me. I wonder if they will do any more films w/Loki in them ( Read more... )

Got Classic Rock magazine - it had some interesting articles about the state of rock music - things like is the album dead and the economics of rock and the 10 ideas changing rock music such as Spotify, Bandcamp and YouTube and music synchronisation (where music appears in film/TV/adverts etc). Finally saw City of Bones (the 1st in the Mortal Instruments series) - it was OK but it did drag on a bit + altho' I thought the casting was OK, it just felt a bit flat to me despite the endless action scenes.
